Governor Resumes

Mike Greenfield

My name is Mike Greenfield and I am Chair of the Board of Governors at Ash Croft & Cottons Farm Federation. As you can see from the photos I enjoy traveling and in particular walking in mountains.  I am married and have four children and at the last count eight grandchildren, all of whom keep me very busy. My wife is a teacher who works in a school in Nottinghamshire keeping me well aware of the trials and tribulations of school life. I also have a dog, a labradoodle, which ensures I have plenty of fresh air and exercise. I was a teacher for innumerable years, highlighted by a spell as Head of a Secondary School in Shanghai although most of the time I was in Primary Schools. I have been Chair of Governors at two previous Derby schools and presently clerk for a number of other Boards of Governors. I have only been a governor at your Federation since September but I am already aware of the distinctive features of the two schools and how hard the staff are working to make sure your children have the best start to a fulfilling educational journey.

Rev. Nigel Elliot

I was born and brought up in Barnsley South Yorkshire. Having worked for the TSB, I then worked in Manchester for the Church of England before being Ordained in 1992. I have worked in 3 parishes before arriving at St Stephen’s in October 2014. Having previously served as a School Governor at 5 different primary Schools, I joined the Governors at Ash Croft and Cottons Farm in 2014. I’m married to Chris; we have 2 daughters [both qualified teachers] and 4 grandchildren. We enjoy walking Charlie our black Labrador, and getting away in our motorhome.

Julie Bogdanowicz

My name is Julie Bogdanowicz and I have been a co-opted school governor at Ash Croft & Cottons Farm Federation since the start of 2017. I am married and have an 18-year-old son and a dog, a border terrier. I am a keen football fan and love the outdoor life, travelling, walking and camping. I retired from Roll-Royce in September 2016 after 37 years service. The majority of that time was spent in Finance management roles where I was responsible for internal controls and project management. I am a qualified member of APM, Association of Project Management.

Keith Ryan

My name is Keith Ryan and I am a Co-opted Governor at Ash Croft & Cottons Farm Federation. I have been a school governor for 12 years at various Primary and Infant schools in the Derby area. During that period, I have been Chair of Governors, Vice Chair of Governors, Chair of Finance, Training Link Governor as well as attending several governor courses.  I am retired and a widower and so far, I have 3 children and 7 grandchildren. I qualified as an Electrical/Electronic Engineer but spent most of my working life in sales and company management in the UK and various parts of the world, including a 12-year period in the USA. I am active in a Rambling Club, a member of a Probus club, do the occasional ad-hoc business project for a company, governor at 2 Derby schools, DCFC season ticket holder, gardening, and occasional golfer.

My name is Laura Brian and I am a staff governor on the Board of Governors at Ash Croft and Cottons Farm Federation. I have been married for almost four years and love nothing more than travelling to different countries on holiday with my husband, reading, especially Harry Potter, and I am currently attempting to learn how to play the piano.  I have worked at the federation for four years and am currently teaching at Ash Croft. However, I have taught at Cottons Farm too so have been able to work alongside the fantastic staff, children at parents across the federation.
